Shohei Ohtani shows signs of recovery as Dodgers prepare for postseason

Shohei Ohtani is showing signs of recovery following a stint on the injured list due to right biceps discomfort. Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts expressed optimism regarding Ohtani’s recent performance, noting that the player looks “wonderful” and is nearing home run form.

As the Dodgers conclude their regular season against the San Francisco Giants, Ohtani has seen adjustments to his role, including moving to the second spot in the batting order behind Mookie Betts. While Ohtani will not pitch for the remainder of the season due to injuries involving his left knee, right arm, and neck, the team is focused on ensuring he is at full strength for the postseason.

Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman noted that while Ohtani’s performance remains vital, there is a desire for more transparency regarding his physical condition. Friedman suggested that Ohtani, like other veteran players, sometimes downplays discomfort, which can make it difficult for the organization to gauge the severity of his injuries.
