Shohei Ohtani tops MLB All-Star voting as Dodgers and Braves dominate NL selections

MLB released its first All-Star voting update, showing Dodgers outfielder Shohei Ohtani leading the National League with 1,165,133 votes, securing the designated hitter spot. The Atlanta Braves also feature heavily, with seven of the nine NL starters coming from the Dodgers and Braves. The voting period ends on June 25, with a second phase for finalists running from June 29 to July 2 and final rosters announced on July 4.

In the American League, Houston’s Yordan Álvarez leads with 1,015,768 votes, followed by Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge and other notable hitters. Venezuelan players are well represented, with 26 nominees in this phase, including Andrés Giménez and Bobby Witt Jr. The All-Star Game is scheduled for July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
