Shohei Ohtani trading card sells for $3.24 million

A unique, one-of-a-kind Shohei Ohtani trading card has sold at auction for $3.24 million, marking the third-highest price ever recorded for an Ohtani card. The card, part of the Topps Dynasty Black series, features Ohtani’s autograph and a game-worn MLB Logoman patch from his historic performance in Game 4 of the 2025 National League Championship Series.

In that specific game, Ohtani led the Los Angeles Dodgers to the World Series by pitching six scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts and hitting three home runs. Fanatics Collect Vice President Kevin Lenane described the card as one of the most historically significant game-worn patch cards ever seen due to the rarity of the achievement.

The card was originally obtained by Arik Cannon, a 44-year-old American professional wrestler, who won it through a $250 online card-breaking event. Cannon stated he intends to use the windfall to pay off his father’s debts following the passing of his mother to cancer in 2023.
