Shohei Ohtani's Biceps Issue Prompts Dodgers to Rest Star After Friday Win
Shohei Ohtani left the Dodgers' Friday game against the San Diego Padres early due to discomfort in his right biceps. He had pitched six innings, throwing a career‑high 110 pitches and helped Los Angeles secure a 4‑3 victory, highlighted by Teoscar Hernández’s seventh‑inning grand slam.
Ohtani told reporters, "It's my right biceps, same location I felt a couple of months ago. It went away pretty relatively quickly, so I expect that to happen again." Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the team will give Ohtani the Saturday game off as a precaution, adding, "He's a quick healer and we need to listen to his body."
The club plans to assess his condition before his next scheduled start and may skip future outings to preserve his health for the second half of the season.
