Shohei Ohtani's Tokyo Series jersey to be auctioned for charity

The Tokyo-based nonprofit YouMeWe has announced that the Los Angeles Dodgers jersey worn by Shohei Ohtani during his first official MLB game in Japan will be featured at the YouMeWe Gala 2026 on October 14. Following the exhibition, the jersey will be available for a charity auction on TheRealest.com, with bidding closing on October 17.

Ohtani wore the jersey on March 18, 2025, at the Tokyo Dome during the Tokyo Series opener. The garment is notable for featuring the first-ever Gold MLB Logoman patch used in a game, the 2025 Tokyo Series emblem, and a Fernando Valenzuela No. 34 memorial patch. The jersey is personally signed and inscribed by Ohtani and has received authentication from MLB, SIA photo-matching, and Fanatics Authentic.

Through the ‘Move With Purpose’ program, YouMeWe aims to use this piece of baseball history to support youth empowerment initiatives for teenagers in Japanese care homes. The organization focuses on providing mentorship and life skills to help young people realize their potential.
