Shoki Oda's career path uncertain following Yomiuri Giants draft selection

Shoki Oda, the Yokohama High School pitcher selected as the first-round pick by the Yomiuri Giants, faces uncertainty regarding his professional future. Reports from MLB reporter Francis Romero indicate that Oda is currently not registered for either the 2027 international amateur free agent contract system or the MLB Draft.

Following the draft, Yokohama High School manager Hiroaki Murata stated that a meeting with the Giants has not yet been scheduled. Murata explained that Oda is expected to undergo meetings in the United States regarding Major League Baseball opportunities first.

Addressing the reports regarding his registration status, Murata suggested that the registration process with MLB would likely be completed by the following week. The manager emphasized the need to allow Oda sufficient time to make a decision, noting that the school is providing full support during this period of speculation.
