Shonai region records fewer extreme heat days this summer

The Shonai region experienced a summer with fewer extreme heat days compared to the previous year. In Sakata, there were zero days recorded with temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius or higher, while Tsuruoka recorded only one such day.

Weather patterns in the region were marked by significant rainfall in late July, followed by a prolonged dry period in August where precipitation was absent for more than 20 days. This contrasts with the previous summer, which saw minimal rain in July and significant rainfall in August.
