Shooter Jennings releases Waylon Jennings unreleased track

Shooter Jennings has released “Saturday Night Special,” a previously unheard song by his late father, Waylon Jennings. The track is part of the upcoming album “Diamonds,” which is the second installment in a series of albums featuring unearthed recordings by the legendary country musician.

Shooter Jennings described the song as being in an unfinished state but noted the high quality of the original performance. The track features contributions from The Waylors and harmonica player Mickey Raphael, who toured with Waylon Jennings in the 1970s. The song was written by Lee Clayton.

“Diamonds” is scheduled for release on LP, CD, and cassette on November 13, with streaming services following on December 11. The project is released via Son of Jessi and Thirty Tigers.
