Shooting near Estepona beach injures a man

On July 28 2026 a shooting took place near the Andalucía Beach area of Estepona on the Costa del Sol at around 17:30, leaving a man seriously injured. Emergency responders transported the victim to Hospital Costa del Sol in Marbella for treatment. Police forces, including the National Police and local police, arrived on scene, secured the area and opened an investigation. Witnesses reported the victim collapsed after being shot and that the presumed shooter(s) fled the scene in a vehicle suspected to be stolen.

The incident comes amid a recent rise in gun‑related violence in the province of Málaga. Three days earlier a separate shooting during a family feud in the Los Asperones neighbourhood of Málaga injured four men. Authorities are continuing inquiries into both events, looking for connections and further leads.
