Shootings in Samborondón, Ecuador and Talara, Peru leave victims wounded

In Samborondón, Ecuador, a 33‑year‑old man known locally as “Rancherito” was shot dead outside a commercial store on Monday around 15:30. Surveillance footage captured a man in black approaching the victim, firing repeatedly and then fleeing on foot. Police collected three bullet casings and are reviewing video recordings to identify the attacker.

In Talara, Peru, 60‑year‑old money‑changer Marco Antonio Camacho Castillo, known as “Toño”, was shot in the left hand during an armed robbery in the Aproviser Segunda Etapa area. The assailants stole roughly 10,000 soles. Castillo received medical treatment and his condition is reported as stable. Police have begun an investigation and are seeking security‑camera footage to locate the perpetrators.
