Shopee expands Brazilian logistics capacity by 60%
Shopee has increased its order processing capacity in Brazil by 60% over the past year through the opening of four new distribution centers in Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Vitória, and Blumenau, as well as tripling the operational area of its Piracicaba unit. The company now operates 30 distribution centers in the country, up from 16 a year ago.
This expansion adds the capacity to process 2.4 million orders per day and is intended to meet high demand during the upcoming 11/11 and Black Friday shopping seasons. To support these events, Shopee plans to offer R$ 25 million in discount coupons for 11/11 and R$ 23 million for Black Friday.
Additionally, the company has announced the opening of over 14,000 job vacancies in logistics and corporate roles across 19 states and the Federal District. While expanding its retail reach, Shopee is also awaiting regulatory clarity from Anvisa regarding the potential sale of medications by partner pharmacies on its platform.
