Shopee expands Brazilian seller access to Argentina and Mexico
Shopee has announced a new expansion strategy that will allow Brazilian sellers to export products to Argentina and Mexico. Through this initiative, the platform will display items from local Brazilian brands and stores to consumers in these two countries, effectively turning local entrepreneurs into exporters.
This move allows Brazilian merchants to access new markets without the need to establish their own international logistics operations, as Shopee will act as the connector between the sellers and the international customers. While Amazon has previously implemented similar internationalization models, Shopee had not yet adopted this approach on a large scale for the Brazilian market. Specific details regarding implementation timelines, taxation rules, shipping costs, or whether the program will include all sellers or a select group have not yet been disclosed.
