Shopee revenue in Vietnam declines by nearly 603 billion VND

Data from Metric regarding the Shopee market in Vietnam between August 24 and September 22, 2026, shows a decline in total revenue. The market reached 22,364 billion VND, a decrease of approximately 3% compared to the previous period, representing a drop of nearly 603 billion VND.

While revenue fell, the number of sales remained relatively stable, totaling 157.5 million units, a slight decrease of only 0.4%. However, the number of products with recorded sales dropped by 12-13%, and the number of stores with sales decreased by 6%. The average value per sale also declined from 145,000 VND to 142,000 VND.

Le Hoa Tuyen, CEO of Tuki Agency, suggests these trends indicate a shift in consumer behavior rather than a total loss of demand. He notes that customers may be prioritizing lower-priced products or that stores are increasing promotions and discounts to maintain conversion rates. He also points to potential shifts in revenue proportions between high-value and mass-market consumer goods.
