ShopeePay and TenPay Global launch cross-border QR payments in China

ShopeePay has partnered with TenPay Global, a cross-border payment platform owned by Tencent, to launch QR code payment services in China. This partnership allows users to scan and pay at tens of millions of merchants that accept Weixin Pay QR codes using their existing ShopeePay or Shopee apps.

The service will initially be rolled out to users in Singapore and Thailand. Subsequent expansion phases will include Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. This initiative aims to facilitate smoother travel and trade between Southeast Asia and China by providing interoperable digital payment infrastructure.

TenPay Global has established partnerships with nearly 50 international digital wallets across 13 countries and regions to enhance payment accessibility for international visitors in China.
