ShopRite opens new supermarket in Edgewater, New Jersey

Inserra Supermarkets Inc. has announced the grand opening of the ShopRite of Edgewater Commons in Edgewater, New Jersey. Located at 481 River Road, the 64,000-square-foot supermarket occupies a space formerly held by Acme.

Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 19, the store began serving the Bergen County community. While currently operational, the facility will undergo a significant two-year remodel to modernize the space and expand its offerings. Planned enhancements include the addition of Antoinette’s Kitchen, a hot bar, a soup bar, and expanded departments for produce, dairy, frozen goods, and kosher products, alongside new energy-efficient equipment.

The new location features several signature departments, including Patsy’s Butcher Shop, a fresh bakery, a sushi bar, a seafood department, and a full-service deli. It also includes the ‘Fresh to Table’ section, providing ready-to-cook and ready-to-heat meal solutions. Lawrence R. Inserra Jr., chairman and CEO of Inserra Supermarkets, stated that the ongoing investment aims to create a shopping experience tailored to the needs of the Edgewater community.
