Short films on cancer patient experiences honored at Italian film festivals

Several short films focusing on the experiences of patients facing serious illnesses have received recognition at major Italian film events.

Takeda Italia was awarded a Special Prize at the 10th Stenterello Film Festival in Florence for the short film ‘Un’esperienza in Più’. Directed by Alessandro Guida, the three-episode film explores the needs and lives of individuals with metastatic colorectal cancer as part of the ‘Più. Più cura. Più tempo. Più vita’ campaign. This award follows previous recognitions for the film at the Sudestival in Monopoli and the Fara Film Festival.

At the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, the short film ‘Nonostante tutto’ was presented. Produced by Mediafriends, the film follows the experiences of adolescents receiving treatment at the Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan. The project aims to highlight the personal journeys, relationships, and futures of young patients, looking beyond their medical diagnoses to focus on their resilience and right to happiness.
