Yomiuri Giants push for comeback as Shosei Togo returns to form

In the final stages of the NPB regular season, the Yomiuri Giants are fighting to maintain their championship pursuit. Pitcher Shosei Togo delivered a dominant performance, pitching through the 9th inning with only one run allowed, signaling a return to form by focusing on his fastball. This performance helped narrow the gap with the Hanshin Tigers to 1.5 games.

Giants rookie Kazuyuki Takemaru is also preparing for a critical start against the Tigers on October 1. Takemaru, who has recorded 11 wins this season, has shown strength against Hanshin, maintaining a 2.16 ERA in previous matchups.

In other league action, Seibu's Kaima Hiramasa earned his 12th win of the season, reaching the required innings threshold for the first time in three years, following a 2-1 victory over Orix. Meanwhile, Lotte secured a 6-3 win against Rakuten, highlighted by a strong performance from Daito Yamamoto.
