Shota Fujio to leave FC Machida Zelvia for transfer
FC Machida Zelvia announced on August 23 that forward Shota Fujio will leave the team to prepare for an upcoming transfer. The announcement was made unexpectedly just before the kickoff of a J1 League match against Urawa Reds.
Fujio, a 25-year-old striker who represented Japan at the Paris Olympics, has been a key player for Machida. He notably contributed to the club's first major title by scoring five goals in the Emperor's Cup, including two in the final. Following the match at the National Stadium, Fujio completed a lap of the stands to greet supporters.
While his next destination has not been officially confirmed, teammate Gen Shoji praised Fujio's character and his decisive role in the club's recent successes. Fujio's current estimated market value is approximately 800,000 euros.
