Shota Imanaga earns 10th win as Cubs defeat Pirates
Shota Imanaga earned his 10th win of the season as the Chicago Cubs defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 12-2 at Wrigley Field. Imanaga pitched six innings, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out four. This marks his first double-digit win season since 2024.
Imanaga benefited from strong defensive play by catcher Carson Kelly, who prevented a stolen base in the first inning, helping to limit the damage after an early run. Following the early deficit, the Cubs' offense took control, highlighted by a two-run double from Kelly.
Teammate Seiya Suzuki also contributed significantly to the victory, recording three hits and scoring three runs. His performance included a triple in the sixth inning, helping the Cubs snap a four-game losing streak.
