Shota Kono manga Nightmare of Oveja Negra wins award

Shueisha has released Nightmare of Oveja Negra, a new science fiction and horror manga written and illustrated by Shota Kono. The story follows the crew of the Oveja Negra, a vessel specializing in the recovery and sale of space scrap.

Driven by economic pressure and the debts of Captain Hank, a routine mission for valuable materials escalates into a struggle for survival against cosmic horror. The narrative is noted for its atmosphere of isolation and its depiction of a strange, symbiont-like entity.

The manga has won the Shonen Jump+ Rensai Grand Prix 2025 and is currently available on Shonen Jump+ and MANGA Plus.
