Shota Morishita forced to leave game after being hit by pitch

Hanshin Tigers outfielder Shota Morishita was forced to leave a game against the Yomiuri Giants on August 29 after being struck in the left wrist by a pitch. The 148 km/h pitch from Giants pitcher Akahoshi hit Morishita, causing him visible distress. He was escorted to the clubhouse for treatment and stated he would monitor his condition.

Morishita, who currently leads the league with 31 home runs, has been frequently targeted by pitches this season. As of August 27, he led all 12 professional baseball teams with 15 hit-by-pitches, marking his fourth consecutive year recording double-digit hit-by-pitches.
