Shota Suzuki secures first career best relief pitcher title

Chiba Lotte Marines pitcher Shota Suzuki has secured his first career title as the best relief pitcher in the Pacific League. The achievement was confirmed during a game against the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks on October 2, when Suzuki pitched one scoreless inning, recording two strikeouts and securing his 39th hold point of the season.

With 39 hold points, Suzuki has mathematically surpassed second-place Yuki Matsumoto of the SoftBank Hawks, who has 36 points and only two games remaining. Suzuki expressed his gratitude to his manager for the trust placed in him, stating that achieving this goal is a wonderful experience.

Commentators have praised Suzuki for his toughness and ability to pitch effectively in various situations, noting his stamina and command of both fastballs and breaking balls. Observers are now watching to see if he can reach 43 hold points, which would tie the club record set by Naoya Masuda in 2012.
