Shotcut 26.7 video editor adds stock asset library and GPU selector

The open‑source, cross‑platform video editor Shotcut released version 26.7. The update introduces a new built‑in "Elements" library of stock assets—about 22 MB in size—including emoji stickers, sound effects, overlay transitions, animated text and other graphics, all royalty‑free and usable in commercial projects.

Shotcut 26.7 also adds a graphics‑adapter selection option for computers with multiple GPUs, letting users choose which GPU handles rendering. A new "Shake" video filter simulates handheld‑camera motion, and the experimental UI generator’s output is now officially supported. Additional improvements include refreshed Fusion Dark/Light theme tabs, restored VST2 and LV2 audio‑plugin support, and numerous bug fixes covering color handling, 10‑bit video processing, audio filtering, subtitle timing and hardware decoding.

These enhancements aim to streamline workflow for creators and expand Shotcut’s functionality as a free video‑editing solution.
