Shower glass maintenance and limescale prevention methods
Maintaining clear shower glass is a common household challenge caused by the buildup of soap scum and minerals like calcium and magnesium found in hard water. These minerals settle into the micro-porosities of standard glass, creating a white, cloudy film that is difficult to remove through routine cleaning.
To combat this, interior designers and renovators are increasingly opting for glass treated with nanotechnology. This extremely thin coating fills micro-irregularities to create a hydrophobic surface, causing water to bead and slide off rather than drying in place. For existing buildup, effective cleaning methods include using dish soap for oily residue or diluted white vinegar to dissolve mineral deposits, though care must be taken as vinegar can damage certain natural stone surfaces.
