Shravani Mela devotees attract attention with massive Kanwars
During the world-famous Shravani Mela, devotees are drawing significant attention with elaborate and massive 'Kanwars' (devotional structures) as they journey toward Baba Baidyanath Dham.
In Munger, several unique displays have become centers of attraction. A group of 40 devotees from Kolkata is carrying a 250 kg Kanwar shaped like an idol of Lord Shiva. Another group of 60 devotees from Kolkata is transporting a 110 kg idol crafted from plaster of Paris and foam, which took two months to prepare.
Additionally, the Shivshakti Kanwariya Sangh from Katni, Madhya Pradesh, is participating with a 51-foot-long Kanwar featuring replicas of the 12 Jyotirlingas. This massive structure was created to mark the group's 25th consecutive year of making the pilgrimage.
