Shree Cement and Vassiliko Cement post profit shifts amid higher fuel costs

Shree Cement Limited reported a 17.7% decline in consolidated net profit for Q1 FY27, falling to Rs 529 crore, while revenue rose 18% to Rs 6,233 crore. EBITDA slipped 4.5% to Rs 1,272 crore and the margin narrowed to 20.4% from 25.2% as elevated fuel and raw‑material costs linked to the West Asia crisis offset strong sales volume growth of 17% to 10.23 million tonnes. The firm highlighted a rise in premium product share to 23.3% and an improved thermal substitution rate of 5.1%.

Vassiliko Cement Works Public Company Ltd posted a first‑half profit of €23.23 million, up nearly 19% from the previous year, with revenue increasing to €80.39 million. The gain was driven by stronger domestic cement sales and better clinker export prices, while higher fuel costs were partially mitigated by lower electricity expenses and efficiency initiatives. The company warned that ongoing geopolitical tensions continue to create uncertainty in energy markets, shipping routes and supply chains, though it expects domestic construction activity to remain stable.
