Shrek 2 Remastered leaks via Xbox Store with 4K upgrades

A leaked listing on the Xbox Store has revealed the existence of ‘Shrek 2 Remastered’, a modernized version of the 2004 action-adventure game. The project is being developed by Aspyr, a studio known for remastering classic titles.

According to the leaked details, the remaster will feature significant technical upgrades, including 4K resolution, improved textures, updated cutscenes, and a revamped user interface. New features reportedly include a Photo Mode and a Cheat Mode.

Multiplayer capabilities are also being expanded. While the original title supported local co-op, the remaster is expected to support up to four players via online play, local couch co-op, or a ‘mixed’ mode that combines both.

A leaked trailer, which reportedly parodies the visual style of Grand Theft Auto VI, accompanied the store page before it was removed. While the leak specifically appeared on Microsoft’s platform, speculation suggests the game may eventually arrive on PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo platforms. An official announcement is anticipated during the ID@Xbox Showcase on October 20.
