Shreveport I-20 westbound exit ramp closure rescheduled

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has rescheduled a planned closure of the I-20 westbound exit ramp to LA 526 (Bert Kouns Industrial Loop) in Shreveport. Originally slated for August 27–28, the work is now scheduled to take place from 7:00 am on Thursday, September 3, until 6:00 pm on Friday, September 4.

The $947,000 project aims to extend the deceleration lane to increase vehicle storage and improve safety by providing more space for exiting vehicles to move away from high-speed interstate lanes. During the scheduled period, the outside right lane of I-20 westbound and the exit ramp will be fully closed.

Motorists are advised to use US 80 (Greenwood Rd) as an alternate route to reach LA 526. Drivers should expect potential congestion and are urged to exercise caution near construction crews.
