Shreveport man arrested for alleged domestic strangulation

Randell Rotharmel has been arrested following a domestic dispute in the 700 block of Dodd Street in Shreveport. According to police reports, Rotharmel allegedly forced his way into a bedroom during an argument, where he grabbed a woman by the neck, forced her to the floor, and repeatedly head-butted her.

A witness intervened after hearing the woman scream that she could not breathe. Responding officers noted visible injuries to the woman’s forehead and redness around her neck. Two children were present in a separate room during the incident.

Rotharmel was transported to the Shreveport City Jail and faces charges of domestic abuse by strangulation and two counts of domestic abuse child endangerment.
