Shreveport Police arrest 19 for DWI during traffic sweep

The Shreveport Police Department’s Traffic Unit and patrol officers conducted a four-day enforcement sweep between August 6 and August 9, resulting in 19 arrests for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and various traffic-related offenses.

Department officials stated the surge in traffic stops was part of an ongoing effort to reduce impaired driving, prevent collisions, and improve safety on Shreveport roadways. The arrests included several individuals facing second-offense DWI charges, as well as additional violations such as reckless operation, speeding, and hit-and-run.
