Shreveport police arrest driver after firearm and drug seizure

A Shreveport Police Department officer recovered two firearms and marijuana during a traffic stop near Hilry Huckaby Drive. The stop was initiated after an officer observed a vehicle speeding and making multiple lane changes.

During the investigation, officers discovered a Glock 10mm handgun, a 7.62mm firearm, ammunition, and a small bag of marijuana. The driver, Korey Ellis, was found to have outstanding warrants through the Shreveport City Marshal’s Office.

According to the SPD’s Violent Crimes Abatement Team, Ellis has a prior conviction for armed robbery and was out on bond for a separate 2025 case involving possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Ellis was taken into custody and transported to the Shreveport City Jail.
