Shreveport Police arrest two felons for firearm and drug possession
Shreveport Police Department officers arrested two convicted felons, Anthony Davis and Rodney Garner, following a traffic stop near Broadway Avenue and Illinois Avenue. During the stop, officers detected the odor of suspected narcotics and discovered that both occupants were armed with firearms.
Investigations confirmed that both men are prohibited from possessing weapons due to their status as convicted felons. Davis was also found to have outstanding warrants for home invasion and domestic abuse battery, and was charged with possession of narcotics. Garner's status as a felon was confirmed via a prior case involving unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Both firearms were seized by the department.
