Shreveport police arrest two juveniles after car theft and chase
Two juveniles were taken into custody following a stolen vehicle theft and police chase in Shreveport. The incident began when officers responded to a report of a stolen Dodge Charger on Kemp Lane.
After a failed traffic stop, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled into a wooded area. A K-9 officer, Enzo, tracked the suspect through woods and residential areas to a nearby house. Inside the residence, officers discovered muddy clothing, a backpack, a cellphone, a screwdriver, and a pry bar.
One juvenile admitted to driving the stolen car, fleeing from police, crashing, and entering a home through a window to change clothes. This individual faces charges including theft of a motor vehicle, resisting an officer, hit-and-run driving, and illegal possession of weapons involving burglary tools. A second juvenile, who had an outstanding vehicle theft warrant from Baton Rouge, was also apprehended and faces charges of theft of a motor vehicle and criminal trespassing. Both were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
