Shreveport Police arrest two men in separate violent incidents

Shreveport Police have arrested two men following separate investigations into violent incidents in the city.

In the first case, Patrick Lincoln, 44, was arrested for second degree murder following the fatal stabbing of his sister, Melanie Lincoln, 46. Officers responded to a residence on Clingman Drive where Lincoln's sister was found with life-threatening stab wounds to her neck. She later died at a local hospital. Investigators cited witness statements and physical evidence collected from the home as the basis for the arrest.

In a separate domestic violence investigation on Highland Avenue, Cory Dial was arrested after a woman reported being assaulted by her boyfriend. The victim stated that Dial destroyed property, forced his way into the residence, and physically assaulted her while preventing her from calling 911. Dial, who had outstanding warrants for battery, was located by patrol officers and K-9 personnel. Kenneth Cottrell was also arrested for allegedly attempting to obstruct officers during the apprehension of Dial.
