Shreveport Police seek suspect in scrap metal burglary

Shreveport Police Property Crimes detectives have issued an arrest warrant for Stephen Terrell Smith following a burglary at WESCO Distribution on Mansfield Road. The incident occurred in July when two men in a gray Ford F-150 entered the property and removed items from a warehouse used to store materials for the International Paper Company.

An employee at the facility photographed the vehicle's license plate and a distinctive large red barrel in the truck bed during the incident. Investigators identified Smith as the owner and driver of the truck and confirmed his involvement through camera footage and a review of his scrap-metal transaction history, which showed six transactions involving iron, aluminum, brass, and tin. Smith faces charges of simple burglary and criminal trespass.
