Shreveport Police to hold seatbelt checkpoint
The Shreveport Police Department, working with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, will conduct a seatbelt checkpoint in the southeast region of Shreveport. The enforcement action is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
While the primary focus is on drivers not complying with Louisiana’s occupant protection laws, officers will not limit their activity solely to seatbelt violations. The initiative aims to increase seatbelt usage and reduce fatalities and serious injuries caused by unrestrained motorists.
