Shri Budha Amarnath Temple extends visiting hours due to high pilgrim turnout
The administration of the Shri Budha Amarnath Temple in the Mandi tehsil of Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, has extended its visiting hours due to a significant surge in devotees during the Shravan month.
To accommodate the thousands of pilgrims arriving daily from both Jammu and Kashmir and other states, the temple now opens for morning aarti at 3:00 AM, with general entry for devotees starting at 4:00 AM. Previously, the temple opened at 5:00 AM. In the evenings, following the 7:00 PM aarti, devotees are permitted to visit until midnight.
Temple Committee General Secretary Anish Misri and Chief Priest Pandit Arun Kumar Sharma noted that the increased hours aim to ensure all devotees can complete their prayers without inconvenience. The temple also provides continuous community meals (bhandara) for the visitors.
