Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust appoints interim GM amid KPCC calls for CBI probe

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in Ayodhya named Krishna Mohan as interim General Secretary after the resignation of Champat Rai. Mohan, a retired senior forest service officer, said, “I will fix the gaps,” and pledged to restore devotees’ confidence and tighten controls over the trust’s administration.

Separately, the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) passed a resolution demanding a CBI and Special Investigation Team probe into alleged irregularities in the trust’s donation, gold and silver accounting. The party also called for the resignation of the Union Home Minister, the Prime Minister’s office, and the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, and urged the Centre to grant a ₹10,000‑crore special drought‑relief package for Karnataka.
