Shrikant Shinde begins MBA studies at London School of Economics

Shrikant Shinde, a Member of Parliament from Kalyan, Maharashtra, has commenced a new academic journey at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Shinde, who is a professional orthopedic surgeon with MBBS and MS degrees, has enrolled in the TRIUM Global Executive MBA program, a joint initiative involving LSE, NYU Stern, and HEC Paris.

Upon arriving at the LSE campus, Shinde paid tribute to the statue of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. He noted the historical significance of the institution, recalling how Dr. Ambedkar once studied there and earned a doctorate with his research on ‘The Problem of the Rupee’ after facing social discrimination.

Shinde stated that while he serves as a representative of the people, he approaches his studies at LSE primarily as a “curious student.” He expressed that while his medical training taught him to treat the human body, this new pursuit in economics and management is intended to help him better understand complex economic challenges and public policy issues.
