Shriya Saran discusses age gap in Drishyam franchise

Actress Shriya Saran has addressed the age gap between her and co-star Ishita Dutta in the Drishyam film franchise. Despite being only eight years older than Dutta in real life, Saran portrays her mother, Nandini Salgaonkar, in the series.

In a recent interview, Saran noted that while the age difference “doesn’t make sense” biologically, the strength of the story allows audiences to overlook the discrepancy. She credited the filmmakers for resolving the casting challenge by writing the character of Anju Salgaonkar as an adopted child.

The third installment of the thriller series, titled ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’, directed by Abhishek Pathak and starring Ajay Devgn, is currently playing in theaters.
