Shropshire Council honors foster carers at celebration event

Shropshire Council held a Foster Carer Celebration at Shrewsbury Town Football Club to recognize the contributions of mainstream and kinship foster carers across the county. The event highlighted the essential role these individuals play in providing stable and nurturing environments for children unable to live with their birth families.

Three special awards were presented during the ceremony. Denise and Rob Edwards received the Long-Term Commitment Award for over a decade of support to a young person. Carol and Steve Mills were honored with the Stability & Dedication Award, while Sally Gibson received the Special Recognition Award for her contributions to both children and the fostering community. The High Sheriff of Shropshire, Katy Tanner, attended as the guest of honor.
