Shropshire residents prepare for London Marathon charity fundraisers

Several individuals in the Shropshire region are undertaking significant physical challenges to raise funds for local charities ahead of the 2027 London Marathon.

Alex Morley, a 36-year-old reporter from Oswestry, aims to raise £2,200 for Shropshire PCAS, an organization providing advocacy and support for vulnerable adults. Morley, who previously completed the Manchester Marathon, plans to participate in the Shrewsbury and Valencia Half Marathons as part of his campaign.

In Shrewsbury, 37-year-old Nathan Rowden is training for the marathon to support Hope House Children’s Hospices. To assist his fundraising efforts, Rowden is hosting a charity music event at the LOOP Venue on October 10, featuring local bands such as Audiothieves and Revolution. Rowden has set a fundraising target of £3,000 to support families and children facing life-threatening conditions.
