Shubman Gill backs Jannik Sinner to win Wimbledon

India's Test cricket captain Shubman Gill attended the Wimbledon semi‑final, where Alexander Zverev defeated Britain's Arthur Fery. Speaking to JioStar, Gill said he is "backing Sinner to win Wimbledon" and described the Italian as a "fantastic player" who conducts himself well on and off the court.

Gill praised tennis legend Roger Federer as his favourite sportsman and noted the effort behind Federer’s apparent ease. He also compared Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz's drop shot to his own short‑arm jab in cricket, calling both "quick, deceptive and effective". Sinner secured his place in the final by beating Novak Djokovic in straight sets, 6‑4, 6‑4, 6‑4.
