Shudder acquires supernatural horror film ‘Sundown’

The horror streaming service Shudder has acquired the rights to ‘Sundown’, a new supernatural horror feature directed by Rebekah McKendry. The film, written by Joshua Hull and David Ian McKendry, follows three generations of women who gather at an isolated forest cabin to seek revenge for a loved one’s death. Their mission is complicated when they realize their captive is more dangerous than anticipated and his family begins a siege on the cabin.

Inspired by 1980s vampire cinema, the production features an ensemble cast including Olwen Fouéré, Camille Sullivan, Summer H. Howell, Daniel Bernhardt, and David Alpay. Rock musician Slash serves as an executive producer through his BerserkerGang production banner.

Director Rebekah McKendry described the film as a passion project that explores female relationships and maternal dynamics. The production was noted for its challenging filming conditions, including temperatures as low as -40 degrees.
