Shudder to Stream Horror Film Nightborn, Starring Rupert Grint, July 31, 2026

Shudder has secured streaming rights for Nightborn, the follow‑up horror feature by Finnish director Hanna Bergholm. The film, which debuted in competition at the Berlinale and will have its North American premiere at the Fantasia Festival on July 22, stars former Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint alongside Seidi Haarla, Pamela Tola and others. Shudder will release the movie exclusively on its platform on July 31, 2026, covering the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Producers include Daniel Kuitunen, Nick Shumaker and David Levine, and the production features notable effects work from industry veterans.

Bergholm describes Nightborn as a “visceral fable” about parenthood gone terrifying, following a couple who move to an isolated forest house and discover something deeply wrong with their newborn. The acquisition was negotiated by Shudder’s SVP of Acquisitions and Production, Emily Gotto, expanding the service’s library of genre‑focused titles.
