Shueisha launches 2026 Elementary School Student Manga Award

Shueisha has announced the 2026 recruitment period for the ‘Ribon x Shonen Jump+ Elementary School Student Manga Award,’ which officially commenced on August 1, 2026. This collaborative competition involves the girls' manga magazine ‘Ribon,’ the ‘Shonen Jump+’ manga app, and the monthly magazine ‘Saikyo Jump.’

The award is designed to encourage children to enjoy manga and to nurture future talent. Eligibility is limited to elementary school students aged 12 or younger as of March 31, 2027. Submissions can be made via mail, digital platforms, or the free painting application ‘Jump PAINT.’

Winners of the top prizes, including the ‘Super Manga Artist Award’ and the ‘Manga Artist Award,’ will have their works featured in full in one of the participating publications. The judging panel includes six popular manga artists, such as Naoya Matsumoto of ‘Kaiju No. 8,’ and the editors-in-chief of the respective magazines. This year, the award is also supported by Celsys, the developer of ‘CLIP STUDIO PAINT,’ which will provide benefits to applicants and winners.
