Shui On Land Joins TIME's 2026 World's Most Impactful Companies as First Chinese Real Estate Developer

TIME magazine, in partnership with Statista, released its inaugural "World's Most Impactful Companies" list for 2026. The list uses a data‑driven Net Impact Model to assess companies' contributions to society, environment, health and knowledge and their alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Shui On Land Limited (stock code 272) was named, becoming the first and only Chinese property developer to receive the honour.

The award highlights Shui On Land’s Xintiandi communities, which blend heritage preservation, mixed‑use planning and sustainability. Flagship projects in Shanghai, Wuhan, Chongqing and Foshan exemplify the approach. Vice Chairman Stephanie Lo said, "Xintiandi Communities set a global benchmark for urban development by sustainably balancing historical heritage, future development needs with environmental sustainability." The recognition underscores the growing importance of sustainable urban solutions as cities house 45% of the world’s population and generate about 70% of global carbon emissions.
