Shuichi Takizawa provides guidance on proper umbrella disposal

Shuichi Takizawa, a member of the comedy duo Machineguns who also performs as a ‘garbage cleaning comedian,’ shared advice on social media regarding the proper disposal of umbrellas during periods of prolonged rain.

Takizawa noted that umbrellas are frequently left at collection points during rainy seasons. He explained that disposal methods vary by municipality; while many areas classify umbrellas as non-burnable waste or require them to be disposed of on specific ‘metal days,’ others, such as Yokohama, have different sorting rules. He urged citizens to consult their local government pamphlets and reminded the public not to leave umbrellas at convenience stores, as this causes difficulties for staff.
