Shuichi Takizawa shares waste disposal safety tips

Shuichi Takizawa, a comedian from the duo Machineguns known as a ‘garbage cleaning entertainer,’ has shared safety tips regarding waste disposal via social media.

Takizawa warned that button batteries can burst if stored together in bags because the contact between positive and negative poles causes a short circuit. He recommends insulating the terminals with tape for safe storage until disposal. He also noted that disposal methods, such as whether they are treated as non-burnable waste or collected on specific battery days, vary by municipality.

Additionally, Takizawa addressed common misconceptions regarding spray cans. He noted that many regions do not collect spray cans on ‘can days,’ instead classifying them as non-burnable waste. He advised residents to separate spray cans from other non-burnable items to prevent accidents. This follows reports of vehicle fires in collection trucks caused by flammable gas remaining in spray cans. Residents are encouraged to check local municipal guidelines for specific sorting rules.
