Shuja'iyya displacement camp burned by drones in Gaza

The Palestinian Ministry of Public Works and Housing reported that Israeli forces used quadcopter drones to set fire to a displacement camp at the Shuja'iyya intersection, east of Gaza City. The fire lasted for several hours, continuing past midnight and destroying tents and personal belongings.

The incident resulted in the displacement of more than 200 families, totaling approximately 800 individuals, including women, children, the elderly, and the sick. The Ministry described the act as a ‘war crime and a crime against humanity,’ asserting that it violates international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions.

The Ministry held both the Israeli occupation and the United States administration responsible for the incident, citing political and logistical support. It has called upon the United Nations, the Security Council, and international human rights organizations to intervene immediately, while urging relief agencies to provide emergency shelter and essential supplies to the displaced families.
